I've been the the Yeshiva University Museum on West 16th a few times. Its the upper floor of a building that houses YIVO and the Leo Baeck Institute as well as a YU archive. I usually go for the reading room. I wouldnt exactly call it a museum, its more of an exhibit space.

My gut feeling is that R' E Fink will do quite well in that accounting. And I know for sure that he will do a lot better than those who encourage others to cover up evil deeds in the name of Torah.

You are speaking lashon hara about the Gedolim at every turn here. Is that called support?

You are still trashing Gedolim regularly in your comments and posts. You still have no kavod for talmidei chachamim. You never should have posted anything on this. It has only caused harm and has not helped anyone. Many aveiros were violated by you and others here with their comments.

You caused great harm with nothing positive coming out.

Look, we all had some questions about this asifa-even the most 'yeshivish' pple had them, Hamodia was honest enough and printed a converstaion with some tough questions on the event. The big diff. is they wrote with respect and gave the Gedolim a chance to answer the questions. You attacked right away and wrote for all to see with great chutzpah. You caused chilul Hashem in doing so.

Learn lessons and do teshuva.

Rav Yaakov Hopfer of Baltimore asked that the following message should be emailed to his membership:

The Asifa is one of great importance as it demonstrates that Klal Yisrael recognizes the importance of this issue and we stand together as one to fight the battle. Eliyahu Fink, you made a young, pachaz k'mayim, big chutzpah error in all your posts against the asifa and against the Gedolim.

Excellent post. The Times article was beyond horrifying. One little question: You wrote that your rabbis say that if one is a victim there is no question that they should go to the police. What about someone who thinks someone else is a victim? I thought that's who the Agudah statement is speaking to.

The biggest "sin" in the book is that the state and city governments allow the Hasidic communities to not only police themselves but to blatantly break the law. The biggest example of this is education. Feldman never compares her educational experience with that of the boys. Obviously she doesnt know what their experience was because boys and girls don't talk and she had no siblings. But in NY state, all children must attend school until the age of 16, and there are a minimum of classes required and tests to be passed. Why are the Hasidic communities allowed to avoid most secular classes? Where is the Regents Exams? Why are they allowed to continue to not educate girls compared to boys? Every teenager in the state could sue based on what is required of them and not of the Hasidics. The answer is obvious: if you educate your children, they will know they have choices in this world and the establishment leaders of the Orthodox communities do no offer choice

So even if you believe that the other religions are false they can be valid. Let the others have their religion. What they do is their business. The important thing is that we focus on what we know to be true.

Problems will arise when they try to force all or part of their religion on you or condemn you to a lower social status because you do not share their religion.

That's why Dawkins and others evangelize. Because of the natural inclination of religious people to impose their beliefs and practices on others.

It is a Gemara in Bava Basra that says that one who needlessly passes by women with slightly bare arms is a "rasha." I'm glad to be from the "insular" backward people who respect the Gemara's opinion more than that of blog commentators.
